Scratch activity - Giga and Pico Adventure

Reflection:
I think that I was able to do the task very easily as we have done scratch previously in grade 8. During grade 8, we learnt more advanced things like how to make the characters dance, turn, etc. So as a result, I knew how to make my characters glide from one specific coordinate to another and how to make the character be in a completely different area in a different scene. For example, when Giga and Pico went to explore, they had to be walking so I made them glide from the place they were in to the edge of the screen for three seconds. To find this gliding action I needed to go to the motion section (colour purple). As you see on the third backdrop, there is a small earth visible. This earth was drawn by me free hand as I still don't understand how to add an image to a background. I knew how to draw this earth as I have seen on the backdrop option that there is this paintbrush tab. As I saw these different options around the backdrop section, I went exploring and saw that I can make different shapes and draw different things with different colours. I thought to myself on how I can make the next scene more interesting and creative according to my skills and then realized that using these new options (paintbrush and circle-maker) that I can create the earth to go with the flow on how they want to go back to earth. Not only did I use digital skills but I also used my art skillys to complete my earth design. Although, in my opinion, I think that my art skills are not yet advanced and still need to improve. Continuing, I actually did learn new skills in scratch and will surely use it in the future projects. Using broadcasting was very different or maybe I just forgot how to really use it. Broadcasting helps make the character and backdrops have a more formatted timing when to do a specific action. In order to do that, I needed to go the events section and get the broadcast option where I make this specific actions or speeches broadcasted whereas the next speech or action will know what to say, do and broadcast next after a specific broadcast. I also used the speech option in the looks section where it gives you space to write what your character should say and the duration of the talking. As the positions, speech and backdrop is different from the beginning to the end, I used the 'when (green flag) is clicked' option which basically when you click that start flag button, you're character, speech, etc. will go back to its original place and redo the whole script. Besides the extra scenes I put, the scenes before had instructions by the teacher meaning that it was easier to complete.

  1. You need to use your creativity in taking the sprites to another location. Try to take them on a tour of Dubai.
